I just received one 16x20 canvas wrap print of our favorite photo. We're probably going to be ordering a few more from their site since the quality is just AMAZING! Nothing beats professional printing! Now the only thing to do is figure out where to hang it...

Elizabeth Medina Photography: Blog Love

It's been a couple months since I've browsed some of my favorite Cancun photographers' blogs.  Elizabeth Medina posted some gorgeous photos in the last few months. Here's a glimpse of a recent entry where the colors were soooo beachy and bright (for all you beach brides).  LOVE it. It makes me glad that I've added a few orange pieces to my summer wardrobe this year, so that I have some bright pieces to wear on our own wedding trip to Cancun.  Again, I am obsessed with Elizabeth's work, and I wish she was available for us, but I can only admire from afar (on my computer screen)...

GE Wedding: Engagement Photos

It took me the last 6 weeks to figure out which of my favorite local Southern California photographers would take our engagement photos, and we finally decided! Drum roll.....

It was TOUGH. I have my top 5. All five of these super duper talented photographers of Orange County and San Diego have the most beautiful photographs of weddings and portraits. So to give them some blog love, I want to show you my current favorite from each of my top five Southern Cali photogs... And FYI, these are NOT in any particular order! Going alphabetical so no one can accuse me of ranking them!

1. Boucher Photography (San Diego): So close, so close. But really -- check out why they were voted San Diego's Best! I was just wowed the second I found their web site. This photo is my fave cuz the dog is soo adorable.

2. Nicole Caldwell Photography (Orange County): Our choice! Our lovely friends Yvi & Allen were shot by her (seen below!).

3. Jessica Claire Photography (Orange County): Seriously, this girl can shoot! Unfortunately, I couldn't afford the beauty of her work. But a friend of mine who's getting married this year will be. At least someone I know will be working with Jessica (who's a real dear).

4. The Image is Found (Nate & Jaclyn of San Diego): You have to check out their blog! The sessions are just full of fun, and their writing style is so cute. I just love to take in both their photos and their words.

5. Melissa McClure Photography (San Diego): I've been a fan for a couple years. And will always love her work. Her blog is so cute, and you can tell, that people just love her. She captures moments so beautifully.

I've been obsessed with all their blogs to figure out who to go with, so I look forward to working with Nicole in the next couple months. I know they'll be beautiful!

Elizabeth Medina Photography

Wow. It's been a while since I last posted anything. I feel pretty bad. But life's thrown so many things at me, that blogging has been pushed further back as the days of December roll in. BUT, one of the things that have kept me busy is looking for a location for my wedding. For a couple years, I've been toying with the destination idea, and this week, I've been obsessed with Cancun. It's a gorgeous place and so I've been checking out different wedding photos, and found so many talented local photographers. One that stood out to me, was Elizabeth Medina. I was first introduced to her work a couple years ago, browsing for something totally different, and her work is just amazing. She is actually on top of my Wish List for vendors if we decide to have our ceremony in Mexico. She's originally from Michigan and has lived in Mexico in the recent years, which offers amazing backdrops for the gorgeous locations for the weddings. Here is a taste of her current work, available on her blog.

She has so many amazing shots of the brides and grooms on the Mexican beaches. this is one of my favorite TTD shots. I'm leaning towards doing the TTD photoshoot.

I love the poignant moments Elizabeth captures candidly during the receptions and throughout the day...

I was browsing online, and noticed that a few brides are adding a little touch of personality to their wedding style with their shoes. Gone are the old white sandals (which are cute), but these shoes I found can totally be worn after the Big Day!

These fun polka dots are from Justin & Michelle's blog. So fun! I love the "something blue"... from Natlie Moser's photography blog.

These are my favorite...from Melissa Mcclure Photography here in San Diego. I wish I knew who made the shoes, but I would wear these now, even to the mall.

I took a break from the hectic schedule that is my life, and saw a facebook status update that a new blog entry was up, so I checked it out, and loved the garden photos of Allana's and Sherwin's Engagement photos. Beautifully done by local photographer, Melissa McClure. Looks like she's been doing some traveling lately for brides all over the country, so please check out her work. She's awesome!!!

Real Weddings - Mexico

My friend Stacey just came back from a Cancun wedding and sent me a link to the photo slideshow. I was so impressed with the gorgeous receptions and photos, that I just had to post some of my faves. Destination weddings are so inspiring to me, because I LOVE the beach. I MISS the beach (we lived in Manhattan Beach, CA for 4 years before moving inland). Please enjoy some more of these beautiful shots by Elizabeth Medina -- if we decide to get married anywhere in Mexico, I'm definitely giving her a call. It's so nice to see that it is definitely possible for brides to have gorgeous receptions for their destination weddings -- it's amazing what these girls and venues have accomplished from such a far distance.
